Department Profile
The Florida Hospital Lake Mary Emergency Room (ER) is an extension of our Florida Hospital Altamonte Campus -- located just north of Orlando. The 18,000-square-foot facility features state-of-the-art emergency healthcare serving the residents of Seminole County. The 24-bed ER includes an urgent care track to diagnose and treat non-emergent cases more efficiently, an observation unit to closely monitor care for up to 24 hours, and offers emergent care with a helicopter pad onsite. Work Hours & Shifts
Part-Time: 4 8-hour shifts, rotating days, 8a-5p. Evenings and nights as needed.
Job Summary
As a Clinical Educator with Florida Hospital Lake Mary ER, you will make providing service your priority while caring for the whole person in a faith-based atmosphere. The Clinical Educator is responsible for facilitating the development of clinical excellence in assigned areas through active participation in orientation, training, on-going staff development and evaluation of clinical practice for all levels of personnel served. Participates in the development of formal and informal education programs and activities in an effort to improve standards and performance expectations. Additionally, is responsible for the coordination of all phases of orientation for new nursing employees, and for delivering and evaluating in-service and continuing education programs on an on-going basis which are designed to meet educational needs. Is cognizant of trends in practice and care delivery and facilitates the process for learners to assume responsibility for maintaining competence in practice. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel
* Effective oral and written communicator; strong interpersonal skills
* Self-directed
* Ability to educate
* BLS/ACLS instructor, depending on specialty, within first year
* 3-5 years experience in the Emergency Room
* Previous teaching experience in formal/informal settings
* Bachelor of Science (BSN) or Master of Science (MSN) degree in Nursing (preferred)
* Prior experience as a nurse educator (preferred)
Licensure, Certification or Registration Required:
* Current, valid State of Florida Nursing license as a registered professional nurse
* Certification in clinical or educator specialty within two years of assuming educator position
* Certification as Nursing Professional Development Educator (preferred)
