The Hospital:

Lander Regional Hospital is an 89-bed facility that opened in its present location in 1983. The hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, is licensed by the state of Wyoming, and is approved for the acceptance of Medicare patients. Lander Regional Hospital features a full-time Level II Emergency Room, a Level II Nursery and a Behavioral Health Program. State-of-the-art medical equipment includes Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and a Stereo-tactic Breast Biopsy unit. The hospital has a number of physician specialists including Otorlarygologists (ENT's), Ophthalmologists and Neurologists. Lander Regional Hospital is the first hospital in the state to be approved as a provider under the Wyoming Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program.

The Beautiful Community:

At an elevation of 5,357 feet, Lander features an Historic Downtown District with numerous art galleries, specialty shops, restaurants and cafes. A greenway that parallels the scenic Popo Agie River is a favorite destination for walkers. Lander is the perfect place for people who love the outdoors. Here you can find world-class rock climbing, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding and camping. The Wind River Mountains have more than 40 peaks that top 13,000 feet, and offer more than 150 glaciers. The "Winds" contain the tallest peak in Wyoming - Gannett Peak at 13,804 feet-and more than 735,000 acres of continuous wilderness area, the largest such designation in the continental U.S. Moose, elk, bighorn sheep, antelope, and other wildlife are abundant. During the winter, there's cross-country skiing on six miles of groomed trails in the South Pass area. Snowmobiling is another popular activity. The Lander/Sinks Canyon area has 70 miles of groomed trails. Lander is the site to the southern-most trailhead to the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail, which you can ride all the way into Yellowstone National Park.

The Opportunity:

Directs and coordinates nursing service and other hospital activities on the specified tour of duty to insure competent and quality patient care, under direct supervision of the Chief Nurse Officer. Serves as an extension of the hospital administration when administrative officers are not present. Follows the guidelines described in the Code of Conduct Ethics and Compliance Program.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

1. R.N. with five (5) years experience, two (2) years of which are progressive management experience or R.N. with BS/BA management related or BSN with four (4) years experience, two (2) of which are progressive management experience or R.N. with MS/MA management related or MSN with two (2) years experience.

2. Current Wyoming RN license.

3. Able to meet the stresses & demands of the position as listed in the Working Conditions Section.

4. Able to communicate and comprehend accurately and effectively in written and spoken English.

5. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

6. Knowledge through training and experience in performing patient care activities for all ages of patients.
