A Senior Lab Data Specialist for CSL Plasma provides data support services for all laboratory testing and laboratory customer relations services for all collection centers, internal and external. This position provides leadership to the Laboratory Data Specialist personnel, setting priorities in the assigned work area and providing direction to others to achieve timely quality results.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Evaluates workload and assigns tasks to ensure uninterrupted department operations. Prepares bi-weekly work schedule and job rotations for Laboratory Data Specialist and reports any staffing issues to Management. Assists in evaluation and discipline of Laboratory Data Specialists.

Monitors calls and call logs for appropriate handling. Promotes and ensures superior customer service. Initiates and investigates customer inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Reviews departmental logs and other records for accuracy and completeness and completes and monitors departmental Incident Reports.

Logs and may initiate Center Feedback Reports (CFR). Communicates CFR data to collection centers via phone, email and hardcopy. Prepares regular reports of center performance for distribution to Plasma Operations personnel.

Analyzes departmental requirements and implements approved changes. May train new associates on departmental operations. Conducts unit meetings of Lab Data Specialists. Participates in Laboratory leadership meetings. May provide support for laboratory supervisors and management.

Monitors information entered into the National Donor Deferral Registry. May assist with NDDR inquiries from the centers.

May prepare samples for confirmatory testing; sample disposal list; and Pool Samples for required testing.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma required.

Three years of customer service experience, preferably in a laboratory setting. One year of previous "lead worker" experience strongly preferred.

Must be able to type and enter data into laboratory's computer system with demonstrated high degree of accuracy. Must have: superior customer service skills to assist internal and external customers, good reasoning/judgment skills, and ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and employees.
