Responsibilities: The Mayo One Check Airman provides check airman and training pilot support at the Rochester MN airport with expectation of covering pilot shifts at primary and potential non-primary bases of operation when necessary. Non primary bases of operations could be Jacksonville FL or Phoenix AZ during periods of growth or transition. The Check Airman is expected to follow the Mayo Clinic Culture of Safety by modeling 5 safety behaviors; pay attention to detail, communicate clearly, have a questioning and receptive attitude, hand-off effectively, support each other - the ultimate goal is to place needs of our patients first by ensuring aviation safety. The Check Airman will actively participate in management of a Safety Management System (SMS) and will participate in annual simulation training. The Check Airman will develop training programs and execute required training standards to support air carrier certificate requirements. The Check Airman will maintain required currency and complete check rides with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) check airmen as required by the FAA. The Check Airman will perform additional tasks as necessary to support the Mayo Clinic air carrier certificate for part 135 operations. The Check Airman is responsible for ensuring base certificate and program compliance. The Check Airman's weight must not exceed 250 pounds/114kilograms. Class 1 medical exams must be coordinated through the Mayo Clinic Division of Preventive, Occupational and Aerospace Medicine. The position is 0.9 FTE/36 hours per week consisting of day and night 12 hour shifts to include weekends.

Additional Qualifications: Prefer jet and turbo-prop experience Prefer currency in airplane category and class at time of application Prefer air medical experience Prefer prior management experience Prefer a 4 year degree

License or Certification: Current FAA ATP Fixed Wing Rating Current FAA Class I Medical Certificate attained from Mayo Clinic Aerospace Medicine
