The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Sr. Engineer for our Voice and IP Services Engineering Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Essential Job Functions:
This position leads the design, development, and the maintenance of TWC ' s next generation VoIP application servers. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills, solid communication skills and the ability to work well in a dynamic group environment and with external vendors.
-Apply industry best practices in architecting, designing and developing enterprise applications running in application servers.
-Develop highly scalable, highly reliable and available applications that can support millions of concurrent connections and thousands of simultaneously requests.
-Develop technical requirements and solutions to meet those requirements for the evolving voice applications.
-Develop server side code for new or existing applications, Linux Scripts, and Tools for deploying, testing and managing production applications.
-Develop architecture, design and interface documents for the developed solution allowing other groups within TWC to understand and manage the elements of the solution.
-Provide analysis of competing technical solutions and their implications to business cases to support introduction of those solutions.
-Provide Tier IV support as needed to augment the integration and operations team. This includes providing guidance to vendor support and problem replication within a lab environment.
-Provide training and knowledge sharing with other engineers within the company.
Job Requirements:
-5+ years of VoIP and/or telecommunications engineering experience.
-12+ years of experience in developing code using Java, Spring Framework, RESTFull, JMS, AMQP, XML, JSON.
-Strong background in VoIP domain including in depth knowledge of SIP and NCS protocols.
-Prior experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment developing scripts to support the application infrastructure.
-Prior experience working in PL/SQL Relational or Non Relational databases
-Proven track record as a Senior Engineer displaying strong teamwork, strong written and verbal communications and customer-oriented skills.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure and meet goals / deadlines in timely manner
Preferred Qualifications:
-Software development experience using Java in J2EE Application Servers.
-Working knowledge of SQL (MySQL) and Nosql (Redis) databases.
-Prior knowledge of WebRTC technology.
-Prior knowledge of signaling protocols such as SIP, and XMPP.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
No Supervisory responsibilities with this position.
