SummitRidge Hospital specializes in the provision of mental health and chemical dependency services. Our nursing staff provides caring and professional inpatient nursing support to adults and adolescents suffering from psychiatric or addictive disorders. Additionally, the Geriatric unit provides acute care for seniors in psychiatric crisis.
Due to continued growth in our programming and services, we are seeking an Assistant Administrator/CNO. Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates patient care activities within designated services, adhering to the Hospital's mission, vision, philosophies, goals, and management principles, with understanding and knowledge of current legal implications. Works with Department Directors of other areas to assure the appropriate and smooth integrations of shared functions in the provision of patient services. Coordinates and collaborates with Nursing Admin and Leadership team to accomplish strategic objectives and compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
h Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Master's in nursing, hospital or healthcare administration, public administration preferred.
h Knowledge of healthcare administration, theory and practice, Human Resources administration and demonstrates understanding of legal and regulatory controls, as well as professional and moral ethics.
h Evidence of interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact effectively with Governing Body, Medical Staff, hospital staff, patients and members of the community.
h Three to five years of healthcare related experience, knowledge of behavioral health operations preferred.
Position Tasks:
The Assistant Administrator/CNO, SummitRidge, is responsible, either personally or through delegation, for:
Integrating SummitRidge Nursing Departments into SummitRidge Hospital's primary functional areas.
Having 24-hour responsibility for the management of patient care areas at SummitRidge.
Developing and implementing policies and procedures that guide, support, and develop SummitRidge Nursing Departments.
Utilizing management skills in problem identification and resolution related to nursing standards, staff performance, and implementation of the nursing process.
Continuously assessing and improving the performance of care/services provided by SummitRidge Nursing Departments.
Collaborating with the charge nurses, other managers, and team leaders in planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing process.
Maintaining quality control programs as appropriate in SummitRidge Nursing Department.
Collaborating with other Nurse Supervisors, Staff Development, and other resources to provide appropriate education, orientation, and training programs to prepare staff for their responsibilities in the provision of nursing care.
Being directly responsible for the direction, development, and performance of the charge nurses and other Clinical Directors.
Direct all clinical components of patient care for the facility including Dietitians, Pharmacy and Therapeutics.
Assist the CEO in overall operations of the facility as needed.
Provide leadership to the facility in the absence of the CEO.
