3M is seeking a Fabrication Weld Mechanic for the Central Services Group located in Hutchinson, MN. Ready to be part of what's next?
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsibilities will include Shop Fabrication and Welding
- Work daily with Drawings, Print Packages, CMMS, etc.
- Modifications & Installations to facility and production equipment, welding, rigging & moving plant equipment
- Troubleshooting and solving mechanical equipment problems
- Work with engineering on equipment upgrades
- Provide Mechanical Craft team support to internal customers
- Work with other PE shops to maintain the reliability of the plant and production equipment
- Perform predictive/preventative routes, establish & maintain equipment documentation
- Future Welding Certifications will be required
- Future certification for Fork Trucks, Lifts and Vehicle Licensing will be required
This position will require:
- Working overtime
- Weekend work
- Working on holidays as needed
- Working a fixed 1st shift (with occasional varying hours)
- Use of personal lifts
- Working from heights
This position may require:
- Short notice overtime/call in
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
- Possess a one (1) year technical degree/diploma in a mechanical field OR 540 hours military experience in a mechanical field
- Previous experience with fabrication equipment including: metal brake, shear, welders, drill press, band saws, hydraulic press, hammer drilling, grinding, finishing work, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess good customer relations and effective communication skills
- Basic usage and knowledge of PCs/computers
Location: Hutchinson, MN
Relocation: Is NOT authorized
Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.
