Position Description:

Under supervision from a supervisor, the Quality Inspector will inspect parts; work with suppliers, buyers and planners. The inspection process includes the use of blueprints, measurement devices and software. Duties will include:

Responsibilities

Perform Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Inspections of purchased and manufactured materials, parts and assembles Read, interpret and work from blueprints Use measurement device line Use computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft office and JDE Communicating nonconforming product issues to suppliers, buyers and planners as necessary Accurately maintain documentation and records in accordance with policies and procedures

Actively participates and contributes to their assigned teams: support organizational goals and objectives Effectively prioritize and recognize issues of critical importance and conduct internal audits Maintain a safe working environment as a condition of employment. Maintain productivity standard within operational area. Maintain a strong attendance record in accordance with Ryder policy. Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

High School Diploma/GED required; Technical degree is a plus Ability to make quick, reliable decisions that represent both the customer and Ryder JDE or similar experience preferred Experience in a parts high volume warehouse 1-2 years experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) preferred 1-2 years experience reading blue prints preferred 1-2 years experience using basic and precision measuring tools to measure parts preferred 2-3 years experience in Microsoft Office preferred 1-2 years experience with vendor management preferred Detail oriented and able to prioritize with strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress Drive resolutions to include follow up Carrying/lifting/pulling/pushing up to 50 pounds Able to stand and/or walk on concrete floor for up to 10 hours per day Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent One year of clerical or warehouse experience Ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written methods Strong customer service skills are required Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) Knowledge of WMS preferred Experience operating forklift equipment preferred

Responsibilities:

Coordinates activities with clerks from other floor areas, the customer and/or other suppliers as needed Using the location's WMS system updates area or shift metrics as needed Generates daily, weekly or monthly reports, memos, and summaries often of a technical and/or confidential nature Floor work and additional duties as assigned Performs basic administrative tasks for area or shift Maintains filing systems and documents Gathers from and provides information to floor employees in his/her area of support Coordinates activities / meetings / communication for the specific area or shift Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
