We are hiring for an Operational Financial Analyst to work at our company headquarter's in Santa Ana, CA. This position is responsible for the development and delivery of business performance reports that aid operational business units to make objective decisions. The Financial Analyst will assist the operational business units by performing data analysis and identifying trends that will allow the business unit to analyze and improve business performance. This position is also responsible for the consistency and integrity of data reported.

Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Assist in reviews of P&Ls and local spending trends
  • Delivers timely and accurate scheduled reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) reporting
  • Clarifies report needs with requestors to understand the purpose and content of requested reports, utilizes systems to create routine reports to meet user needs, audits and analyzes data to verify quality and data integrity. Points out and researches data anomalies.
  • Develop margin analysis to understand job and branch margins
  • Develops and delivers ad hoc reports and business unit specific information
  • Builds relationships with business units managers and supervisors to ensure good working relationships between other business units and Analytics
  • Learns new technologies and systems to advance knowledge of reporting and analysis
  • Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
  • Assist in monthly Accounting Close, working with accountants and controllers on journal entries, adjustments, and accruals.


Position Requirements

Qualified candidates for the Operational Financial Analyst position will meet the minimum requirements, as described below:
  • Bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in a corporate environment setting.
  • Intermediate knowledge of relational database management systems such as MS Access, MS SQL Server/MySQL.
  • Proficient with various desktop applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access. Intermediate SQL language skills (creating queries).
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines. Must be highly organized.
  • Professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion. Must have proven ability to maintain correspondence, discussions and materials in strictest confidence. Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization while functioning as a team player.
