The Customer Solutions team is seeking a Lead Hadoop Developer looking to build a career with the nation’s top home improvement retailer. The team works on home grown as well as third party vendor applications to create and maintain customer data as well as CRM analysis applications. This position requires knowledge of Hadoop, Java and preferably Cassandra with knowledge of Unica a plus. Primary job will entail support of existing applications as well as research and defect resolution.

The Lead Developer must have and be able to promote an appropriate sense of urgency in regard to defect resolution, and be able to effectively partner with the team and the business to develop and deliver IT solutions. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for guiding the work produced by more junior developers and contract developers including code reviews. They will also be expected to lead projects as well as people.

Required skills:

  • Hadoop, Hive, Cassandra, Java
  • Experience with Hadoop, Cassandra, Java and Mercator necessary with experience with Hive, MapR, Scoop, Talend, nosql and Unica/Interact a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as provide leadership and mentoring guidance.
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation skills.
  • Customer Service Oriented.
  • CRM acumen a plus
  • Must have proven leadship skills in both managing projects as well as people.

NATURE AND SCOPE -

  • Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology
  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must pass the Drug Test. Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred plus 5+ years of experience in an IT development environment and at least 3 years experience in Hadoop. Experience in other nosql environments will be considered.
