SUMMARY:

This member of the Distribution Center team The Traffic-Transportation Clerk is responsible for scheduling, monitoring of our carriers to provide on-time pickup and delivery of merchandise to our DC. This support roll will do freight analysis and review of freight bills before payments are made to check the accuracy and vendor compliance. This position will grow as the company begins its importing of goods from overseas.

Verification of merchandise received in a fast paced, high unit environment by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Track and manages 50-100 inbound and outbound shipments per week ensuring: timeliness of inbound

shipments; cost; monitoring and correcting vendor performance deficiencies.

* Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes,

product volumes and mixes, and carriers.

* Monitor product import processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal

requirements.

* Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, and

performance evaluation.

* Create New Store Shipping documents and bills of lading

* Communication with carriers to obtain freight quotes on TL verses LTL movements

* File loss and or damaged package claims.

* Works with the receiving department to ensure appointment and shipments scheduled in WM system.

* Liaison between carriers and vendors to ensure the best and lowest shipping methods are used.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

* High School Diploma/Community College plus 1-2 years in a transportation environment. Prior experience in imports and experts is preferred.

* Strong Organizational skills

* Excellent computer skills: Advanced excel, word

* Excellent written and communication skills, able to communicate with all levels, buyers,

vendors and carriers.

* Customer service oriented ability to operate in a fast pace, multi-tasking environment.

* Acute attention to detail-with strong ability to prioritize and execute tasks.
