Providence is calling a full time, evening shift Social Worker LCSW to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro.
In this position you will:
Provide clinical social work services on the Bridges inpatient program in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Little Company of Mary San Pedro and the National Association of Social Workers.
Be responsible for psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy, participation in treatment team planning, processing commitments, discharge planning/case management service, crisis intervention, and liaison services with referral sources and other departments within the hospital.
Represent Bridges at Court hearings for patient competency.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of an accredited Master's Program in Social Work with Clinical Social Work Licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
2-5 years experience in healthcare related setting with psychiatric mental health patient population in area of services.
Knowledge of case management, group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management, family therapy, theory and practice, and community resources with discharge planning experience.
Advanced communication skills to communicate effectively with patients, hospital staff, physicians and the community.
Must be able to fluently speak, read, write and understand English.
Flexibility and strong self motivation/organizational skills to prioritize work and make decisions with minimal supervision.
Requires a courteous and cooperative service-oriented demeanor.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two years of recent acute hospital experience strongly preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
