Retrospective Review Supervisor - Registered Nurse
Job Summary
This position is responsible for supervising staff completing retrospective reviews of Medical Claims, performing DRG Validation, and processing Reconsiderations and Appeals.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with unrestricted AZ nursing license
- 4 years of clinical experience in any combination of clinical practice, medical insurance, utilization management, or claims fraud and abuse
- Minimum of 1 year prior supervisory and lead experience
Preferred Experience
- Bachelors in Nursing
- Experience in medical coding
- Expeirence with claims processing systems
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise staff and processes related to DRG Validation-review for medical necessity and appropriateness, and coding accuracy
- Ensure compliance with desk procedures relating to DRG validation, Appeals and Reconsiderations, and Medical Claims Review
- Supervise and coach staff
- Ensure staff meet timeliness standards for processing Reconsiderations and Appeals
- Ensure Medical Claims are processed accurately
- Serve as a role model, mentor, and leader assisting with staff development and evaluation
