Payroll Accountant

Aerotek has partnered with an Engineering and Construction firm in the Virginia Beach area to hire for a Payroll Specialist.

This person will be responsible for processing the payroll for their 450 employees throughout Georgia, North Carolina, DC and Virginia. There are a lot of moving parts with their payroll. This person will post the time sheets that the employees fill out (all electronic), job cost codes, then put it into their system. They will be working with 401k, deductions, benefits, ROTH, sick leave, holiday leave, and other payroll related functions. The company pays their employees on the 15th and 30th of each month. They are processing $42 million worth of payroll for the company.

Candidate Qualifications:

1) Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting
2) Must have 4-5 years of payroll/bookkeeping experience
3) Experience posting to a General Ledger
4) Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Must be interested in sitting for their CPA eventually or a current CPA candidate or currently have their CPA.
