Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated, results oriented and creative Research Associate, Protein science to join an ImmunoOncology Department in Germantown, MD. ImmunoOncology is a rapidly growing and exciting area of cancer therapy, with the promise to revolutionize the way patients are treated. The ideal candidate will play a major role in the analyses of proteins with augmented or completely novel function utilizing various purification and analytical methods and will develop new methods for characterizing and improving performance.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Conduct hands-on laboratory research activities involving assay development and interpreting data.
* Express, purify and characterize proteins with biological specificity.
* Work with members of the bioinformatics and protein engineering team to exploit novel protein design for improving protein function.
* Design, execute and troubleshoot protein purification process and functional assays.
* Support discovery and development projects in oncology, immunology and other areas.
* Contribute and drive efforts towards new technology platform development and pipeline implementation.
* Use rational design to identify and optimize novel protein leads for early stage targets.
* Characterize leads using in vitro and biophysical methods, such as high throughput ELISAs, label-free binding assays, etc.
* Coordination of parallel tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating prioritization.
* Interpret and effectively execute upon a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram or schedule formats.
* Self-organizer, meticulous hands-on habits, keen attention to detail.
