RN - Clinical Informaticist - Information Systems - FT - 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

A Clinical Informaticist is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for serving as the key liaison and coordinator for the implementation, maintenance and support of the clinical information systems installed at Flowers Hospital. A Clinical Informaticist collaborates with other hospital systems and staff regarding integration, financial and clinical information and should demonstrate a strong working knowledge of nursing practices and system software applications. Requires strong analytical and organizational skills in order to analyze, develop and document system and interface design and requirements in coordination with user needs and other hospital staff. A Clinical Informaticist is under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer and Associate Directors of Nursing Services and works closely with Information Systems staff and other clinical informatic team members.

Education:

Must have the required education needed to be a licensed Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or related field, preferred.

Experience:

Five years of clinical nursing experience required.

Two years of experience in computer based nursing systems preferred.

Additional education/experience in information services is a plus.

Licenses/Certifications:

Current license as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

Must maintain current BLS certification.

Other:

Must complete the med/math competency exam with a score of 94 or higher.

Must have strong computer, written and verbal skills.

Must be able to work within a team environment that requires consistent and accurate communication.

Must maintain appropriate level of clinical informatics competence and technical skills.

Must have satisfactory work or school references.
