About this job
VISUAL MANAGER
What we're looking for:
A creative visionary who seeks and finds inspiration in unexpected places. A successful visual manager will be both dreamer and doer. Our ideal candidate will find magic in the mix -- hard and soft, stripes and florals, old and new -- and use instinct, strategy and creativity to elevate the store environment.
MUST HAVES:
> Several years of specialty retail management and visual merchandising experience under your belt.
> Knowledge and experience with the manipulation of various textiles and materials, as well as a familiarity with power tools, basic construction techniques, sewing, and installation art
> A close familiarity with our customer and brand
> Awareness of current fashion and home decor trends
> Sophisticated merchandising and outfitting skills
> At least a little bit of left-brain: planning, organization, and communication skills to manage a team and complete projects on schedule.
> An eye for composition
> The ability to support sales generation through visual and display emphasis
> Clear communication skills to share your process, product knowledge and vision with the entire store team
A Day in the Life:
As Visual Manager, every day is a chance to reimagine the store setting. You'll work with raw materials, product, and your team to create and maintain each layer of the visual presentation. Our Visual Managers work in a collaborative relationship with Store Managers to provide continuous staff training on the Anthropologie aesthetic, standards, and merchandising principles. In this role, you're charged not only with crafting a beautiful space, but also ensuring that the presentation drives sales and keeps our customers engaged.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
> Interpret seasonal concept direction and inspiration provided by the Home Office to meet the unique needs of your store, including space constraints, knowledge of customer and local cultural interests
> Infuse personal artistic interests and talents into the visual execution
> Oversee product placement, receiving and display
> Conceptualize and collaborate in the creation of three-dimensional artwork/display, both large and small scale.
> Continually generate fresh ideas in both merchandising and display using varied materials, while retaining a collaborative and flexible mindset
> Serve as an educator and leader for the entire store team
