Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta is a 68 -bed facility located in the heart of Augusta, Georgia. We provide inpatient and outpatient services to children and adolescents who have been placed for mental health and/or psychiatric disorders. Our acute care setting accepts children ages 5-17, residential serves children and adolescents ages 5-17. Sign-On Bonus available for this position.

The Registered Nurse will:

Assess patients through a systematic process of continuously engaging in an open dialogue with patient, the patient's family/caretakers and the appropriate health care providers.

Follow daily schedule, to include school and groups, reporting any and all pertinent information throughout the day to other personnel as appropriate.

Administer medications in a safe, accurate and timely manner utilizing proper medication administration protocols.

Collect and analyze data regarding the patient's physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational and anticipated discharge planning needs.

Determine patients' alcohol and drug toxicity and identify signs of withdrawal.

Develop a comprehensive outline of care with specific goals and interventions to be included in treatment planning.

Monitor patients following nursing unit policies and procedures

Communicate changes in patient's condition with other unit personnel and attending physician.

Inform incoming shift of any changes or problems with patients to promote continuity of care.

Participate in emergency codes necessary to the unit and facility safe operation.

Review patient's records for accuracy and ensure that treatment plan and progress notes clearly reflect progress of patient and family.

Document patient behaviors, condition and progress on a daily basis by recording data in the prescribed format. Progress notes in the medical record accurately reflect behavioral data as well as activities.

Serve as House Supervisor as needed

Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher

Current GA RN License

1-2 y ears psychiatric setting experience preferred

Able to meet physical, mental and emotional demands of position

Walking, running, standing, lifting Irregular working hours Assisting with protective/therapeutic holds and escorts as needed Ability to provide coaching, teaching, demonstrating, motivation and role modeling as needed and required
