Cumberland Hall has provided comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents and adults for more than 20 years. Since our establishment in 1987, we have been a trusted and respected member of the Hopkinsville, Kentucky, community. Cumberland Hall is located near Fort Campbell Military Base and is 60 minutes north of Nashville, Tennessee. Cumberland Hall currently serves children, adolescents and adults with behavioral and substance abuse issues. Cumberland Hall is a 97 bed facility.

Position Description : The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for answering inquiry calls, scheduling assessments, completing a thorough clinical assessment, completing admission process, distributing paperwork, precertification with the insurance carrier and completing the process in our software system. Must be able to work calmly in stressful situations and be able to manage multiple tasks. Flexibility is a must.

General Duties : Must be knowledgeable of and abide by HIPAA regulations with regard to protected health information as defined by HIPAA. Uses and / or discloses on a daily basis verbal, written and / or electronic PHI in order to perform job duties, as pertains to (CLIENTS' FINANCIAL, DEMOGRAPHIC, AND / OR CLINICAL DATA) and / or (EMPLOYEES' FINANCAL, DEMOGRAPHIC, AND / OR CLINICAL DATA).

. Receives inquiry calls and assesses client urgency or need for assessment.

. Relays new referral information to Marketing personnel for follow through.

. Obtains signatures on release of information forms.

. Maintains assessment/admission tracking log.

. Routes incoming records to appropriate hospital personnel.

. Maintains files on all inactive or complete referrals.

. Performs departmental typing as needed.

. Mail/faxes departmental correspondence as needed.

. Maintains daily log of admissions.

. Schedule initial family sessions for therapists.

. Maintains file of current Admissions packet.

. Completes clinical assessment and admission consents.

. Acts as a liaison between patients, families, and program staff during admission process.

. Assigns patient an access code.

. Answers telephone, copies, files

. Demonstrates time consciousness, awareness and strives to use time effectively.

. Demonstrates an ability to set priorities.

. Completes assignments accurately in targeted time frames.

. Attends mandatory annual in-service required for safety, infection control and others required.

. Completes variance reports as required by the Risk Management program.

. Consult with psychiatrist for admission orders.

. Functions in a calm manner during emergency situations.

. Takes call as scheduled.

. Assign clients a Psychiatrist and Therapist upon admission.

. Notify unit charge nurse of new admissions.

. Photograph clients for identification purposes.

. Perform initial vital signs as needed.

Referral and retention bonuses are subject to plan requirements.

Education: Associate Degree and current RN license to work in the state of Kentucky.

Experience: Previous experience in assessments and admissions related procedures.

Knowledge: General knowledge of psychiatric nursing, therapeutic relationships and processes, growth and development, limit setting and behavioral management.
