Position Description:

Responsible for being the lead maintenance technical and process trainer for the Customer Business Unit (CBU) in addition to the system administrator for the shop management system.

Requirements:

An Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Automotive/Diesel Technology, Transportation Safety or equivalent work experience is required Minimum of five years experience in a maintenance environment with corresponding certification/qualification Knowledge of Fleet Management Services and Safety operations required MS Office experience required and basic computer software proficiency including SMS ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Three to five years experience providing technical training is preferred Post-secondary vocational education strongly preferred Requires the ability to work with others and to become a full member of a multi-operational team Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills Field technical and mechanical experience preferred Must have management skills, verbal and written communication proficiency, influence and negotiation skill, excellent follow-up and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

The role of the Manager - Skills Development (MSD) is to:

Conduct technical, SMS and some supervisory training for technicians, service island attendants, customer service coordinators, service managers and maintenance managers Establish training priorities of shop personnel and branches Communicate identified training needs to corporate staff Develop training plans and schedules and adapt, if necessary, schedules and plans to meet business conditions (includes vendor training) Update corporate training records of completed training Assist corporate in development of new training programs Identify training treatable needs versus non-training treatable needs Engage the right resources to develop training solutions Implement training interventions Evaluate the effectiveness of training solutions Maintain a local training resource library Coordinate ASE participation Coordinate TTRP (Top Tech Recognition Program) eligibility and CBU level testing Support and promote safety programs Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
