Pratt and Whitney, Middletown CT facility has immediate openings for Engine Mechanics who are experienced in the building, testing, and instrumentation of a wide variety of new technology gas turbine engines.

Typical job duties include: Under direction of leader/supervisor, follow assembly drawings and/or specifications and computer information systems to prepare parts and build subassemblies, modules and accessories for new gas turbine engines where tooling and process methods are established. Perform similar duties assisting with engine test operations and performing component and accessory tests as assigned. Use overhaul and repair procedures and specifications to perform the mechanical work to overhaul engines, modules and related components. Obtain parts, check details for conformance to assembly requirements and fit and measure components to assure overall dimensions are within limits specified. Use mechanic's hand tools, holding fixtures, and specialized assembly equipment to build engine sections and perform installation of details and maintain equipment and tooling for assigned areas. Provide related support for test operations and assist with testing under direct supervision and specific test schedules. Perform similar duties to assist with co-producer, customer support or other similar programs, retrofit projects and to accommodate new engine programs and assist with changes in specifications. In addition to the duties listed above, this position also requires: Daily work area clean up Prompt reporting of malfunctioning equipment and machines Working within EH&S guidelines as defined by UTC, P&W, and OSHA Training, obtaining, and maintaining licenses, operator permits, and certifications Participation in Company and Department sponsored EH&S and Quality initiatives
