Responsibilities

 This position is an overlay of the regional sales organization and leads the strategic management of regional Data Sales including targeting and developing data opportunities in all channels in the region. Defines the technical capabilities and resources necessary to meet the needs of the customers and data sales force. Drives regional data account penetration by leveraging products and services while collaborating with NAMs, MAMs and B2B Director.  Motivates Data team to achieve sales goals/quotas along with increasing ARPU, managing churn and developing market penetration. Hires, develops and motivates team to meet and exceed key performance objectives. Other responsibilities include overseeing technical assistance and training of data products in all sales channels. 

Performance Management: Drives team sales efforts to achieve data activations wide and deep within assigned region to meet or exceed assigned performance goals and metrics, service and quotas through development of regional data sales efforts. Accountable for achieving quotas, driving growth and promoting/selling data products and services across channels.  Responsible for ongoing data training initiatives across channels in support of new product launches to ensure sales channels have knowledge of data products and can effectively sell and demonstrate products and services.  Conducts sales meetings with potential and existing customers to establish strong working relationships and promote the quality of Verizon Wireless data products and services. Manages data presentations and summits.  Participates in senior leadership meetings.

Operations Management:  Responsible for managing the overall operations and budget for the Data channel.  Defines processes for Data operations.  Manage operating budget.  Analyzes reports and sales results, and develops action plans designed to increase data sales productivity.

Staffing and Employee Relations: Develops leadership qualities in Data team to achieve high performance results. Responsible for management, staffing and operations. Makes decisions regarding hiring, promotion and disciplinary actions. Coaches, trains and motivates team to achieve subject matter expertise. Hires and trains high-performing data sales team. 

Market and Industry Knowledge:  Analyzes data sales results and market conditions to discover opportunities for growth. Reviews tracking reports and stays continuously updated on data sales results. Develops strategies for channel leads to support growth opportunities for data products and services to grow market share and increase ARPU. Remains current on all wireless products and services, industry and competitive trends, and reinforce findings with the team.   

Customer Retention: Manages and grows existing customer base and manages churn.  Develops customer retention tools. Collaborates cross-functionally with  channels to analyze issues that impact Data Sales, and recommends, develops, and implements process improvements.  Resolves customer concerns in a timely and friendly manner.

Qualifications

5-7 years sales management experience including staff development, preferably in a wireless/telecommunications environment
· 2-3 years of sales experience in wireless data desired
· Proven experience leading the response to RFP processes and generating comprehensive ROI models
· BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
· Experience managing large regional territories, budgets, and operations
· Superior organizational, interpersonal, communication, and operations skills
· Ability to meet aggressive deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer and team-oriented work environment
· Excellent negotiation and closing skills are required
· Effective use of PC including Microsoft Office products
· Excellent time management skills
· Highly self-motivated with the ability to motivate others
· Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
· Excellent leadership skills and ability to train, motivate and direct highly-skilled employees
· Ability to present and persuade to various audiences
· Ability to travel, valid driver’s license, good driving record and proof of insurance
