Position Summary:
Keeps assigned areas clean, sanitary and aseptic by scrubbing,mopping, polishing, using germicides and damp dusting. Makes beds or performs duties listed in procedures. Learns to use all equipment according to requirements. Keeps work station and equipment neat and clean. Responsible for care and proper use of equipment in so far as safety and upkeep.
Maintains floor surfaces, vacuums, shampoos, buffs, spray buffs, spot cleans carpet, stripping/waxing tile, dusts and wet mops, washes walls, ceilings, light fixtures, vents, windows and doors as needed.
Hangs drapes and privacy drapes, cleans furniture, helps move funiture and brings cribs, beds and cots to floors as requested.
Must know special procedures for critical areas such as ED, Central Sterile, Nursery, Surgery, Endo, Recovery/Delivery; must be interchangeable with other employees.
Keeps Environmental Services closets stocked with needed supplies on floor.
Replenishes supplies in patient, staff and visitor bathrooms daily, removes trash from patient rooms and bathrooms and replaces trash can liners daily.
Cleans beds afer patients are discharged. Keeps utility rooms clean.
Reports unusual findings, fixtures, equipment that may need repaired or safety issues.
Must be able to use all equipment required for job duties
Cleans elevator tracks, lights and equipment
Education: Requires the ability to read and follow oral and written instructions.
Experience: Environmental Service experience preferred
Special Qualifications: Must have a valid Virginia Driver's License
