Job Summary:

The person serving in the position of Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating, treating disabilities, injuries and disease through the use of a wide range of modalities such as exercise and activities according to prescription of a physician. The Occupational Therapist complies with all regulatory, professional, ethical, quality improvement and facility standards, performs charting of patient progress notes as well as providing supervision, training and assistance to department personnel. The Occupational Therapist serves in a multidisciplinary capacity providing general services to a wide variety of populations which may include pediatric, medical, surgical, ambulatory, orthopedics and geriatric areas. Also, they provide assessment for activities for the swing bed patients.

Essential Duties:

Teaches patients skills/techniques and how to use adaptive equipment for participating in activities.

Studies, evaluates, and records patients' activities and progress.

Responsibilities may include the following indirect patient care activities:

Documentation pf patient records.

Physician contact, including attendance at rounds.

Family training.

Interaction with the Interdisciplinary team.

Education:

Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

Experience:

Entry level for qualified individuals. New grads encouraged to apply.

License/Certification:

State Occupational Therapist License required.

BLS Certification must be obtained within 3 months of start date.
