By 2050, our global population is projected to reach over 9.5 billion. What does that mean? In just 34 growing seasons, the world's farmers must learn to feed almost 2.5 billion more people. But how will they overcome increasing weather variability, challenged farm economics and ever increasing scrutiny from the public eye? PepsiCo's Sustainable Farming Initiative (SFI) was established to enable farmers to build capability and deliver performance that is environmentally, socially and economically sustainable. It is a continuous improvement program that identifies risks and opportunities and delivers solutions within PepsiCo's agricultural supply chain.
This position with PepsiCo's global SAG team will be responsible for deployment of the SFI regionally, with a focus on supporting the North America beverage and foods business, in order to meet/exceed stated goals and performance metrics for specific crops. This position will require collaboration and coordination with other functions within PepsiCo - including Global Procurement, Public Policy & Government Affairs, and Operations - as well as with relevant forums and strategic partners.
Key Accountabilities Include:
SFI program implementation in North America in support of Performance with Purpose sustainable agriculture goals
Works closely with other regional SFI program managers to ensure consistent program delivery in accordance with the SFI Scheme Rules
Field based coordination that ensures the timely and accurate collection of primary farm based data for reporting and assessment
Creation of a prioritized agenda that addresses the identified areas for improvement through the application of recognized sustainability practices
Source potential partnerships/third-party resources for deployment and improvement in farm performance
Support for execution of regional programs, including Field to Market Fieldprint projects
Support engagement with key customers and stakeholders
Support execution of customer and region specific goals and commitments
Build knowledge and capability of sustainable agriculture practices with suppliers and PepsiCo agro teams
Education & Certifications:
Undergraduate degree related field
Master's degree preferred
Work Experience:
10+ years' experience in the sustainable agriculture space
Leveraging sustainable agriculture programs and practices to build sustainability and drive impact
Skills & Capabilities:
Demonstration of supply chain management in agriculture or related fields
Specialist skill set in at least one Sustainable Agriculture discipline, leveraging specialist skillset across a global remit when/where required
Ability to lead manage complex projects
Ability to influence and lead cross-functionally internally and externally
Strong project management skills - ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities and plan
Ability to effectively communicate (spoken and written), fluent in English
Other:
Willingness to travel >30%
