**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated **Mechanical Engineering Student Intern** for employment in Annapolis Junction, MD. AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be a role model, client-focused, impactful and decisive. The ME Intern will provide support to base and facility operations for a government client. Intern will rotate through three departments (Integration/Engineering, Construction, Project Controls) four weeks at a time to provide full life cycle experience.The ME will provide technical support on all mechanical systems under the supervision of a professional mechanical engineer.

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

+ Assist and work under onsite staff licensed PE Mechanical Engineers to perform troubleshooting of systems.

+ Review preventative maintenance plans including Schedules, Job Plans, and Maintenance Procedures..

+ Perform overall capacity management. Assist to update the site Mechanical Drawings and the Mechanical System Riser Diagrams.

+ Ensure building modifications comply with code requirements and original design intent for NCE.

+ Safety - AECOM enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. As appropriate, interns are responsible for completing all safety training requirements.

AECOM can offer interns a fulltime position upon meeting the following:

Successful university graduation from a Mechanical Engineering Program.

Successful performance as an intern.

Application for and receipt of a government TS/SCI clearance.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Currently in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering.

+ A university student with no more than two academic years remaining before earning a degree. These students are typically rising juniors or seniors in University.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Knowledge and interest in the architecture/engineering field designing HVAC and plumbing systems and/or construction/scheduling.

+ Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, Revit and AutoCAD).

+ Capable of using spreadsheets, word processing and standard software.
