Pharmacy Details: Among all the Pharmacies we work with on a daily basis, there are SEVERAL that still request Per Diem Pharmacy Technicians. These pharmacies we work with have great reputations at the market level, high retention rates, and pleasant environments to work in. Since it's hard to find individuals to catch onto their software's quickly while working during a normal shift, some do provide onsite training by request and some require it. This allows each Pharmacy Technician to provide the best customer service possible. Each Pharmacy Technician going into assist the pharmacy, whether it be a day shift or for an extended period of time, are seen as one of their own employees, this gives each individual a sense of ownership and pride in their work while getting to know each patient.

Job Responsibilities

As an Per Diem Pharmacy Technician you will be responsible for maintaining productivity and quality standards as well as legal and company compliance as you enter in new prescriptions and assist in the preparation of prescriptions.

Additional responsibilities:

• Receiving written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate
• Establishing or maintaining patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients
• Maintaining proper storage and security conditions for drugs
• Answering telephones, responding to questions or requests
• Pre-packing bulk medicines, filling bottles with prescribed medications, and typing and affixing labels.
• Cleaning and helping to maintain equipment or work areas according to prescribed methods
• Assisting customers by answering simple questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information
• Receiving and storing incoming supplies, verifying quantities against invoices, checking for outdated medications in current inventory, and informing supervisors of stock needs and shortages

Specific Outpatient Pharmacy Technician requirements:

• Area: Ability to work in the North Bay Sonoma County area
• Licensure requirements: Must have valid, open and active California Pharmacy Technician license
• Education : High School Diploma or equivalent
• Years of experience: 6 Months to 1 year of recent outpatient or Retail pharmacy experience
• Schedule: Varies, Flexible availability for per diem shift; Pharmacy hours of operation are 8:00am-9:00pm with occasional Weekends
• Length of Assignment: Per Diem
• Pay: DOE
• Background/drug requirements: Ability to complete background check, client health screening criteria and drug screen
