A minimum of two to four years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed. Involves inside and outside sales. Must be willing to work weekends and have a valid driver’s license. Customer service skills needed. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Job Description
Establish new sales accounts and manage existing accounts for group room accommodations.
- Sell various types of accommodations.
- Seek out new clients and develop clientele by networking.
- Generate lists of prospective clients.
- Call on accounts to deliver and explain services, analyze current business needs and suggest additions or changes to group programs.
- Customize programs to suit individual customers, often covering a variety of services while leveraging amenities of all hotels.
- Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and payment terms.
- Consult with customers in order to determine objectives and requirements for events such as meetings, conferences, and conventions.
- Convey details of customer event requirements to Convention Sales staff.
- Coordinate services such as accommodations and transportation for customers.
- Conduct post-stay evaluations with customer in order to determine satisfaction and future needs.
- Analyze details of sales territories to assess their growth potential.
- Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products or personnel.
- Monitor sales performance to ensure that goals are met.
- Prepare sales and inventory reports for management and budget departments.
- Attend all sales meetings as well as events hosted by the hotels.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
