To represent Optum on all large,  outsourcing deals relative to productive solution sales.
 
The VP New Business Sales will provide strategic focus on growth and execution of long sale cycle deals through engagement with potential clients at the  highest level. This position will have primary responsibility for business development activity including prospecting, qualification, value demonstration, and opportunity closure. 
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Drive NEW business sales process and work collaboratively  with targeted clients and prospects
Expand on existing Optum relationships in the industry and  with key executives ensure existing efforts are coordinated  with additional outreach and orchestrate the selling effort to increase deal velocity, coordination and success
Meet and exceed new business sales goal in excess of  $100M TCV 
Develop deep consultative relationships at the C suite level with key large accounts
Product expert in areas of ITO / BPO large deals in Payer/  Provider markets 
Effectively collaborate and partner cross-functionally in a heavily matrix organization on large consultative sales 
Assume responsibility and accountability for assigned  annual sales revenue goals 
Maintain a robust, qualified new business pipeline 
Demonstrate consistent activity disciplines to maximize new business development and assure perpetual pipeline growth  
Maximize the strategic plans of accounts within the full breadth of solutions and services  
Create value-added solutions using a professional  consultative selling approach
Manage the sales cycle through the use of weekly pipeline  and account reviews to include all stakeholders  
Establish, build and maintain positive, professional  relationships and interaction at all decision levels
Maintain a highly credible and professional profile within the  industry
Demonstrate and maintain a deep proficiency and expert knowledge level of all existing and new capabilities  
Participate in trade shows and other industry events as appropriate  
Provide input for product enhancement and new product development 
Communicate issues, concerns and problems in a solution oriented  manner  
Provide intelligence to the organization on competitive activity  
Provide management with timely reporting as required and requested  
Ensure accurate and timely entry of sales opportunity information using our CRM tool 
Demonstrated Skills:

Excellent interpersonal, communications, listening, and presentations skills including experience at the C-suite level
Solid working knowledge of strategic planning, execution of strategy, budgeting, business development and sales
Demonstrated solid leadership qualities and organizational skills in coordinating the sales cycle
Ability to generate trust and respect from staff, internal and external constituencies 
Ability to work effectively with individuals at varying levels of the organization with a demonstrated ability to create, build, and maintain relationships  
Superior communication skills - listening, written, and verbal 
Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task and to deliver results within short timeframes  
Thrives in a high paced, high intensity environment 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:  



Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of related experience

Ability to travel 50%+

Established and positive team leader with at least 10 years of successful sales experience 

Experience with large, complex sales (+$100,000,000 TCV)

Experience BPO / ITO Healthcare sales / consulting

Exceptional strategic selling skills including discovery, ROI development and presentation, sales cycle maintenance, tactical planning and closing 

Verifiable sales success using a consultative sales approach 

Ability to effectively diagnose client needs, propose and close solutions that have measurable and positive business impact  

Knowledge of the Healthcare market, its complexities, interactions and friction between Payers, Provider and Consumers and an understanding of the opportunities within 

Knowledge of healthcare technology and operations
Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or relevant post graduate degree
Executive management experience
Healthcare industry experience  
WiPro, Cognizant, Accenture or IBM experience
Successful track record of selling products / services  specific to the health care payer market (claims editing / management, fraud, or subrogation solutions, clinical  management, outsourced services, consumer engagement,  provider engagement)
Experience calling on C-Suite and senior buyers in the payer market
15+ years sales, account management experience
