Description:

The Director of Digital Design will establish, execute and maintain the design vision and strategy for Hilton Worldwides digital channels while attracting, inspiring and growing top design talent, while providing thoughtful leadership and advocating for customercentered design practices.

What will I be doing?

The Director of Digital Design will establish a creative direction for digital projects. The Team Member will provide time and cost estimates for potential work and forecast the workload capacity for the design team.

 

Other key priorities are listed below\:

  • Plan activities and events that stimulate and inspire designers

  • Ensure the designers assigned to projects are the best fit based on project requirements and the abilities of the designer

  • Develop design elements including screen layouts, images, icons, animations, etc., to provide a usable and compelling user experience

  • Design and produce graphical elements optimized for speed and compatibility

  • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding digital design

  • Ensure photography and other design deliverables used on our digital channels are appropriate and high quality

  • Ensure time is tracked accurately and promptly

  • Contribute to project requirements

  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders

  • Lead design reviews

  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and have the ability to prioritize, show initiative and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong people leadership skills including demonstrated success developing others

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Identify weaknesses in individual designers and the team overall and make a plan to shore them up

  • BA/BS Bachelors Degree

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of Digital Design experience

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a leadership role

  • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience

  • Exceptional design skills, including color theory, layout, typography, corporate identity and branding

  • Ability to translate abstract concepts into innovative designs that are web and mobile friendly, easy to navigate, represent the brands goals, satisfy branding requirements, communicate information architecture and enhance the user experience

  • Solid knowledge of user interface design, industry standards and trends, platform and browser capabilities and digital design constraints

  • Strong knowledge of mobile development and concepts

  • Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite and strong graphic optimization skills

  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript

  • Ability to travel as required

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions\:

  • MA/MS Masters Degree

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of Digital Design experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a leadership role

  • A minimum of four (4) years of supervisory experience

  • Previous employment with an Advertising, Marketing or Digital agency

  • Demonstrated intuitive and engaging UI design with simple clean style and a pixel-level attention to detail via a portfolio
