The Network Management Solutions (NMS) team, within the UnitedHealthcare Networks (UHN) organization, is responsible for defining and executing the network data strategy and priorities for solutions that address provider needs in the marketplace. As a part of this team, the Market Research Analyst will be empowered to support short and long term operational/strategic business activities; develop, enhance and maintain operational information and models that will have an impact on business decisions.
 
As a key resource, the role must maintain a high degree of accuracy and technical competence; possess superior attention to detail, and exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills. This role will be responsible for working with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure a clear understanding of the business problem / opportunity, and document clear business requirements that define the problem / opportunity and business needs. Strategic and innovative thinking, and independent project management and will be essential for the position. In particular, candidates must have an interest in translating data into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Gather supporting information and assist in business case creation
Conduct and analyze market research, market assessments and competitive intelligence
Develop and produce dashboards for internal stakeholders, covering markets and competitors
Assist in the development and maintenance of the market research plan assuring delivery of research on time and within budget, and develop recommendations to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives
Manage and implement internal systems, templates, and tools to maximize the efficient delivery of market insights
Support other strategy development, business planning and senior leadership activities
Analyze, review, forecast, and trend complex data and information for the development of business requirements
Support short and long term operational / strategic business activities through analysis
Present analysis and interpretation for operational and business review and planning
Effectively document and communicate decisions, understand customer needs and proactively elicit, capture, and communicate business requirements to meet those needs
Review the analysis and interpretation of others work, and provide tangible feedback
Develop and implement effective / strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes
Validate solutions, designs, and test plans to ensure traceability to business requirements
Serve as a key resource on complex and / or critical issues, and present options for problem resolution
Provide input and guidance for User Acceptance Testing staff, and assist with testing as needed

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

6+ years of experience of eliciting and writing business requirements, documenting business process, or systems analysis
Healthcare industry experience
Demonstrated ability to communicate analysis, including trends and opportunities, to stakeholders
Experience working within an SDLC (system development life cycle) methodology
Experience taking a lead role on a large-to-complex program, project and / or non-project initiative
Logic reasoning, good independent judgment, and the ability to work with frequent interruptions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Articulate, assertive and persuasive with the ability to adapt communication style and approach to audience
Strong planning, organizing and prioritizing skills
Ability to work independently and self-direct workload based on organizational priorities and objectives
Experience creating and presenting program level communications to senior leadership
Ability to build strong business relationships cross-functionally
Intermediate level of proficiency with office automation software programs ( Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
Proven problem solving skills, including balancing multiple priorities and addressing conflicting and / or data inaccuracies
Proven ability to drive complex issue resolution across multiple supporting teams with differing organizational reporting structures
Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferably in Business, Technology, Finance, Health Administration or related field
Proven experience leading market research and intelligence projects
Experience working within an agile methodology such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Optum Scalable Agile Method (OSAM)
Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures
Exposure to and familiarity with SQL / Access and SharePoint
Experience with forecasting and estimating project demand
Project management experience
IIBA Certification (CBAP or CCBA)
