As part of our Application Engineering Dev-Ops team, you will predominantly be involved in breaking down the ‘Wall of Confusion’ between Development and Operations. You'll stretch your skills and grow your career as a primary contributor  in lowering operational costs and increasing throughput via the implementation various forms of automation. This is a unique development role where your skill as a software engineer and passion for efficiency intersect with your love of adopting the latest industry trends to empower the Business to amplify and tighten the feedback loop with Customers.

Primary Responsibilities: 



Support, enhance and extend our Continuous Integration and deployment automation system, migrating to Continuous Delivery over time.
Research, advocate for, design, implement and extend system configuration management and automation to lower operational costs and increase consistency and quality across environments.
Partner with the Development and Operations teams to ensure applications build, deploy and operate efficiently in Production.
Be a point of escalation to research and troubleshoot complex issues in Production that typically span multiple applications or tiers.
Participate in design reviews with Development representing IT Operations team’s interests. Review and optimize Development’s designs to ensure applications are operationalized when deployed.
Influence your peers as well as senior leadership to adopt new ideas and/or approaches.
Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business.

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 



Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math or a related technical major.
2+ years of full Software Development Life Cycle experience. 
2+ years experience with automated build, continuous integration and continuous delivery systems, such as Jenkins, MSBuild, Maven. 
2+ years experience in at least 1 high level programming language such as C, C#, C++ or Java
2+ years experience with at least 1 scripting language such as Perl, Python or PowerShell.
1+ years experience with Configuration Management and associated tools such as Puppet or Chef.
1+ years working in a large, complex Enterprise environment utilizing multitier architecture.
1+ years Experience with programmatic interaction with a relational database, preferably a recent version of SQL Server.

Preferred Qualifications:



1+ years experience with full stack, from the data layer through the UI especially in the .Net space.
Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in large, complex application environments. 
Ability to troubleshoot and fix anything.
Ability to form and leverage effective relationships with different teams spread across multiple geographically disparate sites.
Strong oral, written and presentation skills. 
Ability to influence others in a positive way.
Passion for learning new technologies. 
Stays abreast of the latest industry trends.
Health care industry experience.
