Unit Description

 Sodexo is seeking a Chef for Stonehill College in North Easton, MA, a private, non-profit, coeducational, Roman Catholic, liberal arts college As Sodexo's Chef Manager you will do some of the purchasing for student dining and catering. You will show your strong leadership skills as you mentor and train your staff.  The Chef will be responsible for all production each day feeding approx. 2,500 students and providing healthy menus and educating the students on healthy eating.  The chef will also prepare food for high end catering .  Seeking someone that brings a culinary flair and will become part of the campus community. This position will report to the Executive Chef and be responsible for leadership in the absence of the Executive Chef.

 

The ideal candidate will

  • Have a strong commitment to excellent customer service and food quality.
  • Have restaurant or other Food Service industry experience in quick service, fast casual, or full service environment.
  • 2 - 4 years high volume culinary management experience
  •  An understanding of Food/Labor costs, managing to the middle of the page.
  •  Experienced with food and labor management systems, experience with on line ordering
  •  Solid communication skills and ability to develop rapport with client, faculty, staff and students.

Position Summary

Responsible for food production in a foodservice operation. May be responsible for one area (i.e., hot foods) or could specialize (i.e., catering). Supervises a staff of hourly associates. May be responsible for food inventory and ordering. May conduct culinary training. Manages the kitchen. Reports to GM or Executive Chef.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
