PRIDESTAFF FINANCIAL IS LOOKING FOR A SENIOR ACCOUNTANT FOR A CLIENT IN THE GREATER SACRAMENTO AREA

SUMMARY

Actively supports the Accounting Manager position by managing the daily activities of the staff accountants. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the timeliness and integrity of all accounting information by establishing quality control over the financial transactions. The Senior Accountant will assist the Accounting Manager by directing the financial activities of the organization by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly manages the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of the staff accountants.
  • Responsible for managing general ledger account reconciliations prepared by staff accountants.
  • Assists the Accounting Manager by working with other administration division departments to help improve integration, such as credit, treasury, human resources, payroll, marketing and information technology.
  • Assists the Accounting Manager in developing, improving and issuing timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. Assists with the consolidated financial statements, in accordance with GAAP, including intercompany eliminations and reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
  • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Reviews and recommends modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Provides input into department’s goal setting process.
  • Assists with internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Supports month-end and year-end close process.
  • Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assists with the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Assists with reports required by regulatory agencies and third parties, including various tax returns, lender compliance reports, etc.
  • Other duties and special projects may be assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for managing the daily activities of the staff accountants without direct hiring, performance evaluation and/or disciplining responsibilities. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for providing feedback and assistance to the Accounting Manager for training employees, planning assignments, directing work, addressing complaints, performance feedback and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university required; five years progressive accounting experience including managerial experience required. Advanced Excel proficiency required.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, algebra and calculus.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid California driver’s license and a clean DMV driving report.

COMPENSATION

$65,000 - $90,000/yr depending upon experience. Exempt employee status with bi-weekly salary. Excellent Company paid benefits, life insurance, 401(k), and profit sharing plan. Paid vacation and holidays.
