Senior SAS Programmer, Dovetail Health - Needham, MA - Full-time / Part-time

The Healthcare SAS programmer will enable Dovetail Health to intake new and modified data sources that drive business processes and outcomes measurement. The Healthcare SAS programmer will, for new and existing clients, ensure that new health claims and other data feeds and new formats for these data are integrated into Dovetail’s analytic and operational processes with rigorous attention to quality and consistency. The Healthcare SAS programmer will work within Dovetail’s analytics team and report to Director, data analytics. This is a business critical role that demands a highly motivated, self-directed, and collegial professional.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Perform analytics on raw and scored data to ensure quality and completeness
Support integration of new data sources by building integration and coding/mapping strategies
Proactively and reactively create data specifications, data sets, data dictionaries, verifications of data, FAQs, job aids and training materials
With technology team, help ensure efficiency in data management and data storage processes
Participate as a vital member of an innovative and business focused analytic team

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
5+ years of SAS programming experience, extensive knowledge using macros
SQL programming skills
3+ years of experience working for a health care organization or business reliant on analytics of health care claims data
Strong knowledge of health care claims
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with pharmacy and medication management analytics
Experience with population health management analytics
Experience with electronic health record data
Master's degree in technical or health care focused field
