Optum 360 is looking for a Business Analyst to analyze and perform work flow performance improvement in support the Revenue Cycle Services department.
 
Under the direction of the Senior Director, Health Information Management & Coding is responsible for providing revenue cycle and Health Information Management process optimization and analytical support for performance improvement initiatives. Additionally, this individual will work in conjunction with the Senior Directors and HIM Service Area Leaders to analyze inefficient business work flow processes, and design and help implement improved, streamlined processes for more efficient business operations, work closely with IS to address EHR/HIM system related issues, communicate regularly with management regarding status of projects and outstanding issues. Responsible for the preparation, analysis and evaluation of the effects of the HIM/EHR systems upon department activities.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Analyze, review, forecast, and trend complex data
Oversee ad-hoc client and operational reports developed and presented by others
Present analysis and interpretation for operational and business review and planning
Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities through analysis
Develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes
Act as a primary system level resource for performance improvement inquiries by Senior HIM Staff
Complete KPI research and root cause analysis and deliver findings to the Senior Director, HIM and Coding

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
1+ years consulting experience -OR- 3+ years of progressive management experience in hospital and HIM/revenue cycle operations, preferably with responsibilities that span multiple entities
Proven ability to work collaboratively in group settings with various stakeholders, including executive leadership and clinicians
RHIA or RHIT
Comprehensive understanding of HIM and Revenue Cycle operations and leading practices
Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in related field
1+ years of statistical analysis experience
2+ years of project management experience
1+ years of experience with quality improvement, LEAN, Six Sigma and/or other improvement methodologies
Exceptional organizational skills, with the demonstrated ability to drive large workstreams to in a complex, environment.
Self-directed and motivated with strong analytical skills, systematic and orderly planning abilities, and high attention to details
Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to create and conduct presentations effectively
