Director, Safety + Security – The Hotel Hershey

This position is responsible for planning, directing, monitoring, and evaluating the safety and security functions for all guests, employees, and physical assets of The Hotel Hershey while contributing to the overall financial performance of Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company.
 
Job Functions:
 

• Manages the day-to-day operation of the Safety & Security department of The Hotel Hershey within the approved operating budget
• Ensuring the operation of loss prevention policies and security and life safety systems, including key control
• Purchasing, training, evaluating, scheduling, and overseeing daily activity of Safety & Security staff
• Monitoring compliance with federal, state, and local safety and security regulations
• Conducting loss and safety investigations
• Administering first aid and CPR as needed
• This position also participates in the Manager on Duty rotation

Basic Qualifications:
                                                                                                                                                                           

• Minimum of four (4) years of work experience in the criminal justice, safety & security field.
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice/safety/security-related field. If no degree, a total of four (4) years related experience is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in management in safety & security field.
• Valid driver’s license

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR, and certification required to maintain employment
• First Responder or certification helpful
• Knowledge of criminal and federal law and fire and safety regulations pertaining to hotels.
• Proven employee/guest relations, communication, problem solving, and organization skills
• Keyboarding skills and PC familiarity
• Knowledge of electronic locking equipment; fire and intrusion alarms
• Professional image representative of property image

Working Conditions:

• Physical requirements include extensive walking, standing, climbing, reaching, bending, stooping, lifting, performing detailed work at close distances, finger dexterity, and adjusting to indoor/outdoor climate changes.
• Schedule will vary according to operational needs, but will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• First responder to hazard chemical release.
