PROFILE:

            An entry-level position requiring a positive work ethic.

            Requires supervision.

            Adheres to Vail Resorts Culinary Guidelines.

            Owns proper culinary tools or is prepared to purchase them if required by outlet.

            Practices good personal hygiene, safe food handling, and advanced culinary skills.    

SKILL LEVEL:

Culinary experience is preferred.

Ability to develop basic culinary skills. Develop competent knife skills and basic cooking technique.

This job requires: the ability to lift 75 pounds, standing or walking for up to ten hours, the senses of taste and smell are used often, the use of hands and arms for periods of up to ten hours, peripheral, color, and depth of vision are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

Preps and works assigned station quickly and cleanly.

Follows prep sheets accurately and with a sense of urgency.

Prepares food to the specifications of the chef.

Will attend HACCP training and practice those techniques.

Reads, understands, and follows recipes and standards.

Advises higher level cooks and/or managers of anticipated problems.

Demonstrate teamwork and cooperation with service staff.

Completes any reasonable task assigned by a supervisor.

Ability to communicate effectively.
