Position Purpose:
Manages and oversees the maintenance of equipment and facilities within assigned region to ensure efficient operations of each building. Ensures equipment, grounds and building are in compliance with all regulatory requirements. Oversees repairs and recommends purchases of equipment and new construction. Manage successful vendor and property management relationships. Requires flexibility to work all shifts.

Essential Job Functions:

The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Supervise, coach and counsel staff members on performance, including preventative maintenance, safety and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with an emphasis on the Company’s interests.
  • Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
  • Analyze data to determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Effectively accomplish assigned duties/tasks through the work of subordinates.
  • Move merchandise and equipment up to 50 pounds.

Supervision Responsibility:

The position supervises non-exempt level Maintenance associates in the DC to include interviewing, hiring, scheduling, assignment delegation and follow through and, in conjunction with manager and Human Resources, disciplinary actions. The Maintenance Manager is also responsible for completing the performance evaluations for direct reports. Additionally, this position is responsible for supervising on site vendor and contractor visits.

Work Environment:

The duties of this position may be performed in an office environment with exposure to, or in a warehouse environment in which there is constant exposure to, heat, cold, dirt, dust, fumes and/or noise. Work duties are almost exclusively performed indoors in one location, where the risk of minor injury should not be overlooked as a result of warehouse conditions. This position will be required to operate equipment that climbs. Travel to regional and annex locations will be required. May occasionally have to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
The minimum educational background of an applicant to this position is a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Industrial or Electrical Engineering or Business Administration. Basic math proficiency and a working knowledge of Excel (for complex spreadsheets), Word, PowerPoint and MS Office are required. The ability to learn and use company specific computer applications is also required. A minimum five years previous progressively responsible experience in one or more of the following is required: facility management/distribution warehouse operations/safety. Proven leadership skills acquired through 2 years previous lead or supervisory experience is required. Must have strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and persuade. Previous experience or exposure to regulatory requirements is a plus. Ability to learn how to operate material handling equipment is required. Education or formal training in a related field can substitute for experience. Experience with conveyor systems and forklift equipment a must.
