POSITION FOCUS
The IT/IS Specialist's primary areas of responsibility is to support the staff by maintaining their desktop computers and the servers so that they can accomplish their work utilizing the tools provided as efficiently and productively as possible. Assist in all technical aspects of company goals.

Maintain computer systems, ensuring that all operate at maximum efficiency and are up to date and ensure that all data is accessible and secure. Assist in the launch and maintenance of company initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Solving day-to-day help desk issues for in-house and remote employees
* Create documents for IT processes
* Cross-train staff members to handle IT issues in absence
* Software/hardware recommendations, make approved purchases/leases
* Create annual IT budget
* Hardware/software asset management
* Responsible for installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of laptops/desktops/servers, printers, and mobile devices
* Conduct scheduled backups once per week after hours or on weekends
* Ensure that servers, storage devices, network, firewall and VPN access are operational
* Administer Fonality PBX system
* Re-imaging desktops and laptops
* Work on strategic objectives as assigned
* Research and recommend workflow and productivity improvements across all departments

POSTION REQUIREMENTS
* College degree
* 1-3 years of experience in IT consulting/help desk capacity
* Proficient in Mac OS X 10.6+
* Proficiency with Windows Server 2008 R2 preferred
* Basic UNIX command line proficiency highly desired
* FreeNAS experience highly desired
* Knowledge of Mac OS X Server and OpenDirectory preferred
* Experience with GoToMeeting (or similar) preferred
* Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, OSI model, TCP/IP, VPN)
* High attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills
* Patience with novice computer users
* Ability to multitask
* Sense of humor
* Know how and when to ask the right questions
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair remotely
* Be available to work some weekends

PAY RANGE
$20-23 per hour, competitive benefits package, casual work environment
