Position Summary:

The VVC Auditor will be responsible for monitoring and reporting compliance issues with respect to inbound DC shipments. There are two categories of auditing: 1) Compliance Verification 2) random sampling. Governed by the Burlington Vendor Manual, each auditor will use a Checklist to record the findings of their research, enter that data into various Burlington systems. Associates will work on the receiving docks performing verification and compliance inspections for goods prior to being received and processed. The job requires the associate to work closely with both the receiving offloading staff and their management team to keep the product moving and trucks turning over while ensuring the integrity of the shipments being processed through the facility is correct. This job requires a high level of accuracy. Associates will work with trouble liaisons for any shipments that fail the verification inspection, so they can be put in the trouble area. Auditors will enter charges into the chargeback system to ensure that chargebacks are recorded for vendors that do not comply with our shipment requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to inspect goods and understand SKU information.
  • Ability to understand bulk versus prepacks.
  • Ability to understand PO/style/color/size information.
  • Ability to read pre-tickets to determine accuracy.
  • Ability to use a RF gun and inspect cartons.
  • Ability to maintain and assure packet and checklist integrity.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to bend and squat throughout the shift.
  • Ability to push heavy cartons.
  • Ability to work in receiving trucks and lift boxes up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to load boxes on conveyor.
  • Ability to lift boxes off of conveyor.
  • Ability to work various computer programs to research, enter charges, and/or print new labels.
  • Safety awareness around trucks and on the docks doors

Obtaining the Packet: Retrieve and check packet for accuracy before performing audits.

Labeling and Carton Condition Check: Ensure the carton condition is satisfactory and accurately labeled in the proper location.
