ABOUT THE JOB Contribute to a positive experience for our customers/co-workers by maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the Restaurant/Staff Café to strengthen IKEA’s position as the best home furnishing store

YOUR ASSIGNMENT Your tasks will include: • Ensure an adequate supply of serving and cooking utensils and equipment is available at all times • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware in a properly maintained dish machine and wash and sanitize pots, pans, and utensils by hand • Perform Dish Room opening and closing routines as assigned • Maintain cleanliness and order of Restaurant/Staff Café dining tables, chairs and floors • Takes dishes and carts to kitchen area and return carts to dining areas. • Assist with receiving and storage of deliveries • Keep storage areas and walk-in closets clean and organized • Clean, operate and maintain equipment according to safety, health and sanitation laws and guidelines standards • Inform appropriate managers of safety hazards and repair needs for Dining Room furniture and Dish Room equipment • Remove and empty trash following waste management and environmental policies • Use available resources to educate yourself on Food Service products, services and customer interaction skills • Promote a safe working environment for fellow co-workers, customer and visitors by reporting any safety hazards, concerns or ideas for improvement.

YOUR PROFILE Your knowledge, skills and experience include: Knowledge/Experience: • 0-6 months of experience in the food industry: Capabilities/Motivation: Furnishings • Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers. • Ability to work independently and in groups • Prefer fast-paced, retail work environment US Specific Position Information • Department: IKEA Food • Report to: Commercial Restaurant Team Leader • Matrix: IKEA Food Manager • Manage: No direct reports ? Work Location: Fast-paced, deadline driven, high volume retail store ? Physical/Mental Demands (Essential Functions): Having the ability to access and observe all areas of the store; to handle multiple and changing priorities/deadlines and moderate stress; to communicate with customers and co-workers and manage conflict; to lift and move 50 lbs (25 kg); to use the PC for extended periods during the shift; to wear PPE (personal protective equipment); and to use small power tools and related equipment. • Physical/Mental Demands (Non Essential Functions): Bending, stretching, reaching, climbing, lifting and wearing required IKEA uniform • Travel: Limited domestic and overnight travel ? We currently have two different part time positions, offering between12 and up 19 hours per week. HL 1 positions offer limited benefits.. The other is 20 and up to 31 hours per week.
