The Senior Physician Contract Manager is primarily accountable for ensuring the physician network yields a geographically competitive, broad access, stable network that achieves objectives for unit cost performance and trend management, and produces an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners across all lines of business. Senior Physician Contract Managers evaluate and negotiate contracts in compliance with company contract templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls. Responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with physician practices, integrated healthcare delivery systems and other key network providers, and ensuring the network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties.

Primary Responsibilities:

Negotiate contracts with integrated healthcare delivery systems and complex physician organizations
Own an end to end process
Develop functional, market level, and / or site strategy, plans, production and / or organizational priorities
Apply network configuration and incentive-based payment models as appropriate to improve quality and efficiency
Identify and resolve technical, operational and organizational problems outside own team
Product, service or process decisions are most likely to impact entire functions and / or customer accounts (internal or external)

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

3+ years’ experience in a network management-related role handling complex network providers with accountability for business results

3+ years’ experience in the health care industry

3+ years’ experience with provider contracting, including experience negotiating with top tier providers

3+ years’ experience utilizing financial modeling in making rate decisions

Expert level of knowledge of both commercial and government program reimbursement methodologies, including value-based and incentive reimbursement structures

Strong customer service skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information form others, including but not limited to reimbursement policy standards

Strong interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others

Experience in the Georgia healthcare environment
