Residential Solar Designer
Job description
Residential Design Engineer and Sales Support
Hours For This Job Will Be Mon - Fri: 8am - 5pm Responsibilities
- Support sales team with PV related designs concerns
- Review existing electrical components and match with proposed solar equipment
- Determine interconnection method
- Site surveying
- Create solar permit plans for residential and some commercial
- Find creative solutions to difficult problems
- Perform electrical calculations
- Field support
- Understand and utilize BOS components
- Coordinate with multiple jurisdictions to meet their requirements
- Excellent communication skills is vital to coordinate projects with Operations team
Desired Skills And Experiences
- Thorough understanding of PV Solar systems
- Working understanding on the California Electrical code, Building code and Fire code
- Solar Design experience (familiarity with residential and small commercial single phase design)
- Autocad drafting (experience required)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and project deadlines
- Ability to review and develop construction plans
- Strong leadership & interpersonal skills
- Use production estimating tools such as Helioscope, PVwatts, PVsyst
- Electrical/Solar Installation experience is a plus!
