Typically incumbents matched to this function are working towards or have achieved certification in Lean or have accredited Lean Training. The Employee applies Lean methodology and analytics to organizational operations in order to accomplish business objectives. Works with Lean professionals in the planning, designing, and accomplishing of key projects. Incumbents will lead lean training and implementation of the model to deliver the cultural change required for successful and sustained operation of the ACE (Achieving Clinical Excellence) department. Primary Responsibilities:


Provide explanations and information to others on topics on lean concepts, tools and methodologies.
Provide leadership and management and ensure effective communication within the Care Redesign team
Serve as an ACE Facilitator to deliver the cultural and change management strategies required for successful implementation and sustained operation of the Lean culture
Partner with key stakeholders within the medical group and the Optum Practice Management team including Finance, Human Capital, Marketing, IT, and Business Development to ensure coordinated support for medical practices
Identify opportunities for improvement and expansion of capabilities in quality outcomes, patient satisfaction and exceptional care delivered to our patient community
Identify opportunities for improvement through the analysis and monitoring of clinical quality, financial and operational improvement reports and dashboards
Ability to deliver presentations that have strong impact
Identify and communicate the requirements and deliverables for each stage in the Lean project process
Utilize appropriate communication tools to articulate findings/outcomes of the Lean process
Translate complex data into easily-understood summaries and recommendations (e.g., visuals, charts, matrices, bullet points)
Identify and adopt new and innovative tools and technologies that enhance the value of Lean process to the customer
Translate Lean concepts into practical business language to ensure ongoing engagement and participation of stakeholders throughout the project
Serve as a change agent within the organization to drive adoption of new/revised business solutions
Define/validate appropriate control and maintenance processes to ensure ongoing effectiveness of improved/created processes (e.g., sustainability)
Transition projects/events to applicable stakeholders, ensure that all actions are assigned and projects participants are held accountable
Define and validate the project parameters (e.g., charter, scope, project team, key inputs and outputs, interdependencies)
Educate, communicate, and serve as a champion for Lean, drive a culture of quality
Coach/educate others on the appropriate use of Lean methodology and tools, and on their roles, responsibilities and expectations (e.g., process owners, project sponsors)
Share functional knowledge with others to allow for cross-functional collaboration and seamless transitions
Provide/utilize feedback on specific project outcomes to enhance the effectiveness of future projects
Demonstrate an understanding of the business (e.g., strategies, goals, structures, policies, processes and procedures)
Demonstrate an understanding of how specific parts of the value stream impact the performance of the larger process/system (e.g., end-to-end systems thinking)
Utilize data from quality audits to demonstrate the need for performance improvement to applicable business stakeholders (e.g., business leadership, Champion)

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

•2+ years of experience in design, delivery, and/or evaluation of training programs•2+ years experience leading or co-leading 2 or more LEAN events (week long or more - ex. Value Stream Mapping) •1+ years of experience creating (or co-creating) 2 or more training classes with materials and activities •Experience presenting in front of 10-40 people •Ability to keep presentations on track and bring attendees back to focus if distractions are present

Preferred Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree•Lean background •Formal or informal Lean certification •Healthcare experience
