Per Diem Cashier Representative - Huntington, NY - Full-time / Part-time

The Cashier Representative
receives payments from patients for hospital services rendered and
issues receipts. Reviews departmental charge slips for completeness.
Receives and issues receipts of deposits by various hospital departments.
Performs other duties to facilitate the timely flow of accurate
information in the cash control process of the hospital. Additionally,
performs patient registration functions.Primary Responsibilities:

Reconciles
cash drawer at the beginning and end of shift to ensure the amount of
cash on hand is correct. Discrepancies are reported to the manager of
the department.
Receives, verifies and secures monies collected, generates appropriate receipt
Receives payments from patients by cash, check or charge card and generates an account receivable receipt.
Issues a general ledger receipt for monies collected to apply to the general ledger accounts.
Indicates
the appropriate accounts receivable payment code/general ledger account
number on each accounts receivable/general ledger receipt
Act as an on-site liaison between Optum 360 and the hospital; Notify Management of any issues or concerns that may arise.
The position involves cashiering.
This position is responsible for all patient registration functions
Performs related duties as required..

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
Experience
with Word, Excel & Outlook.  Word - Create Correspondence and work
within templates. Excel - Data Entry, Sort/filter, and work within
tables.  Outlook - email and calendar management.Available to work on a per-diem basis.Assets:6+ months exposure to the acquiring and/or managing of data to support a project Knowledge
of cashiering, banking, or related experience in cash transactions,
experience with public contact  Knowledge of accounts receivable and
general ledger, bookkeeping or accounting proceduresKnowledge of front end registration practices within the revenue cycle.\Undergraduates degree or higherDirect healthcare data collection experience1+ years of customer service experience within a medical settingCareers
