POSITION PURPOSE - The Online Software engineer is at the epicenter of growth in our 88 Billion Dollar company. You will be responsible for designing, implementing and supporting web applications to support the dynamic growth of Home Depot ecommerce across various channels (web, mobile, tablet). You will collaborate with a diverse group of architects, quality analysts, designers, developers and product managers to deliver robust ecommerce solutions that showcase our brand. You thrive in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment which focuses extensively on delivering high quality applications at a rapid pace. MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
25% - Understand functional and technical designs created by Sr or Lead Software Engineers
75% - Work on simple to medium complexity requirements and system design - Develop, compile and commit code for deployment - Write and execute unit test cases

EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - -

1+ years of software development experience -
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
1+ years' experience with Java, Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server  
1+ years' experience with Web Services, JSON, XML, REST Technologies  
Proficient in fundamentals of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES - - Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication - Strong analytical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies in a short amount of time - Ability to work on a large and diverse technology teams
