Dog Groomer

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

Must be licensed and have at least 2 years of experience in a salon at minimum or Certification from a recognized grooming school. 

A positive attitude towards all dogs and their parents - We do not breed discriminate and you will need to be comfortable with all dogs and their families.

Direct customer service experience is essential.  We believe that the best way for the Groomer to establish a trusting bond with our clients is through direct communication handling difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.

Experience handling dogs of all sizes and breeds or at least have knowledge of basic grooming techniques.

Experience working in a team - Our business is a working daycare and boarding facility and you will work alongside the team. Working cohesively as a team is essential to our goal and enhances the clients experience with us.

High standard of cleanliness - Maintaining a clean and sanitized area is not only integral to great client service but also for the health of the dogs.  A Groomer needs to maintain an organized and clean area at all times

Excellent verbal and written skills - You will be the main point of contact for our clients. Our Groomers need to have effective communication skills and be able to discuss sensitive information with the client.

Skilled in others areas including nail trims, ear cleaning, anal glad expressing and teeth brushing. Experience in hand plucking is a plus.

Compassion when handling nervous dogs is essential.  We strive to make grooming a positive experience for all dogs.  Possessing skills to calm and work with nervous dogs will make for positive future appointments.

Attention to detail is vital.  Consistency and detailed records will be required for all clients.

Ability to receive feedback from clients as well as daycare Management - We want our groomers to thrive and grown to further develop this position.

Stamina - Groomers are on their feet working for their entire day

Marketing experience is a plus and will help to grow the clientele and the grooming revenue for the business

Groomers need to be professional in appearance at all times.
