Job Summary The Development Assistant provides responsible and skilled administrative support to the Corporate and Foundation Relations team, manages data and tools for tracking department performance, manages communications tools for outreach to staff and faculty, maintains donor data in DART, and manages CFR office functions. The development assistant will interact with corporate and foundation representatives, UMHS faculty and staff and act as the 'front-door' to the corporate and foundation function within UMHS.

Responsibilities* Tracking Performance and Maintaining Donor Data

Run queries to identify and track foundation and association proposals through ORSP and update DART weekly. Update opportunity plans.

Run queries to identify and track corporate, foundation and association revenue data through FinOps. Feed data to Gifts and Records.

Develop templates and run reports utilizing Business Objects, DART, and eResearch.

Update DevNet, DART, and contact lists with additions or changes.

Input corporate, foundation and faculty visit reports into DART to support recording efforts.

Manage and maintain electronic and paper files and disseminate documents as needed.

Pursue special and ongoing data projects.

Provide Administrative Support to CFR staff

Maintain calendars, schedule appointments and conference calls, schedule group meetings and maintain email groups within office.

Coordinate donor visits and events including drafting itineraries, preparing and distributing internal briefing materials, and preparing other arrangements or materials as needed.

Make travel arrangements for offsite donor visits and other trips including airfare, hotel, transportation and itineraries.

Maintain, monitor, and process the department's and directors' purchasing cards.

Support CFR participation in development and campaign events, creating invitation lists and managing follow-up.

Route incoming correspondence to appropriate recipients across the department and University.

Act appropriately on behalf of colleagues in their absence.

Perform other clerical duties as needed.

Support Communication with Faculty

Update and maintain online CFR RFP website as required, including updating lists of current grant opportunities.

Assist with the preparation and management of targeted e-mail blasts to faculty on opportunities for funding.

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Five to ten years of experience in office setting, with increasing levels of responsibility.

Effective interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to communicate well with external stakeholders.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Business Objects, and facility with internal and web-based communications.

Demonstrated ability for dependability, team participation and attention to detail.

Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and accomplish tasks under deadline.

Desired Qualifications*

Familiarity with the University and UM Health System organization strcutures, policies, and procedures

Advanced proficiency with Business Objects and Microsoft Excel

Familiarity with corporate and foundation fundraising
