Overview
Responsible for leading strategic, high impact programs that add a unique local layer of profitable sales growth to $1 billion of Wendy's business. Drives decisions on $4-7 million of co-op advertising to most effectively and efficiently build customer counts in 25-30 DMAs. This position reports to the Field Marketing Director.
Specific Responsibilities Include
  • Identify unique sales and profit opportunities for local markets and develop local plans to drive results incorporating market research, competitive tracking, product indices, dayparts and community engagement.
  • Work with cross functional team in the identification of Competitive Intrusion and/or Sales Inhibitors (construction, demographic shifts, etc.) that results in down restaurants or markets. Develops trade area protection plans to reverse negative sales trends and partners with Finance to analyze results.
  • Responsible for management and performance of local advertising agencies in efficient and effective traditional and digital media planning/buying, promotion development, creative development, market research and analysis of tactics for continually improving performance.
  • Leads franchise system to adopt Wendy's initiatives on product marketing, price/value, product testing and remodeling support to maintain a unified restaurant system. First level franchisee contact on all unique marketing concerns and needs.
  • Support Wendy's Cause marketing of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption by increasing awareness of foster care adoption and engaging local communities in fundraising activities.
  • Oversees co-op and company marketing budgets of between $4 million and $7 million for 25-30 DMAs. Responsible for proper procedural process and structure in the conducting of co-op business, agreements, by-laws, accounting system, and voting structure.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelors' Degree preferably in Marketing
  • 5-7 years marketing experience within agency or as client of lead agency
  • Demonstrated mastery of marketing discipline including designing, developing and implementing marketing programs for a product or service
  • Experience in quick service restaurant sector
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence others
